These are my first dolly customs, so please be gentle with me This is Augusta! She has hand sewn and painted t-shirt and jeans. The jeans have full stitched detailing on the seams, and have Gusty's symbols up one side and on one back pocket This is Gloria. She will soon have a six pannelled skirt, alternating panels will have Glory's symbols all over. She will have a plain white roll neck jumper on top. What do you think?? Would you buy one?? I am hoping to appeal to the pony and doll collectors, and do comissions etc, worth it do you think?? What can I charge for a custom doll like this?? All the clothes will be hand sewn, and match the pony it is modelled after.

Hi Anna I really love what you've done with these two - are they both Barbies btw? Love the themed ideas and names for them and their clothing and think the hair colours look well cool!! Yes, I too would love to see the jeans in full, please!! It is difficult to put a price on OOAKs when you think of all the work you have put into the creating and making of the item ...... one day you could get £30+ for one or you could get as little as £10 ...... depending on whether you put a starting price and then how many bidders you get especially on Evilbay!!! The way things are going on Ebay right now you may want to set up your own website or affiliate yourself with an established website and sell them from there .......... I think a lot of collectors will end up selling what they create via other sites instead of Ebay and you just might attract buyers who have never bought off Ebay or have avoided Ebay purposely. Good Luck with whatever you decide to regarding the selling of your creations though and continue to show us them as you finish them (before and after pics are always appreciated)!!! Luv Anita xxx

Well done! Lovely reroots and great choice of colours! Price is so subjective--you've got to take your time and materials into account; and then a lot depends on 'how much' someone wants the doll--that's the unpredictable part; if you eventually build up a clientelle off ebay, you may be able to ask for more for each OOAK because you would be selling based on your good reputation which you would be establishing over time. And of course, an OOAK with hand made fashions can sometimes go for more, altho some with refashioned costumes can fetch a lot too--it really just depends on the buyer. In any case, good luck with your future venture! Thanks for sharing the pics with us here...Best, Frances

Thanks girls! I am glad you like them, I was a bit worried about posting them as I wasn't sure how well received they would be I will remember to take 'before' pics next time, I wouldn't customise a nice doll though (well, exept for the purple haired on here, she was a 2 pound cheapy from a newsagents!!) The green haired doll is a Barbie I think, but as I said, the other is a knock off. Her body is actually quite flimsy, its really light as its hollow, but I wanted a cheap doll to practice on first. I will get pics of Gustys jeans for you, I am quite pleased with them, I'm not really sure why I didn't take pics of them before!!
