Hi Every one I have just finished my first Tressy Re-root, the head was much more difficult to get back on and I did take a while getting this fixed in place with the mechanism hanging there ready to be inserted lol and of course replaced the arm which I took off to help me get the head out. she was more of a challenge than a Sindy but I think you will see the finished results justified the effort. The picture below is the before picture the finished one will come in a few minutes. the dented body has also been restored and she now has a perfect chest. I have re-rooted her in dark brown and this took longer than I thought as she probably had as many plugs to do as a patch. Kind regards Kevin Then this is the finished little girl all repaired and re-rooted dressed in a Tressy outfit Leather Look Kindest regards Kevin

Really FAB Kevin Well done you for having a go at one as the effort was well worth it, I assure you!! These dolls are a royal pain to do, so I am told, as you have to take the arm out to take the head off and you also have to sort out the mechanism before you even begin to do the re-root!! There are not that many people that can restore these dolls living in UK - they do take time to do and care is needed with the mechanism to get it and the doll put back together properly Pats on back well in order here Luv Anita xxx

Hi Anita and Mims I must be honest I didn't know quite how hard she was going to be to get the head off, yes I did take the arm off to help me lever it off and then the mechanism out carefully. Then when I stripped the hair ohhh that was difficult as inside the head had matted and gone hard so this took longer than I thought to. After loads and loads of plugs of hair, probably just as many as Patch trying to get the head back on was difficult to say the least even softened in hot water it took me about twenty minutes of coaching and finally it went on then I reasembled the mechanism combed and dressed her. I am very pleased with the results - I have several more to do. this little lady had very dented left chest and I heated that in boiling water and then gently pushed and reshaped her. She does look much better for it. I will post more pictures as I do the next ones. Kind regards Kevin

Well done Kevin she looks great. To be honest i don't have a Tressy in my doll collection yet Always thought she looked a bit too (snooty) stuck up to me. But with the new hair do, she looks wonderful and alot more approachable and real gem. You do some great work. Luv Dawn xx

Hi Kevin, she is amazing as all your reroots always are I have rerooted a few of these, have just repainted one ready for rerooting, but have never taken the arm off?? I always heat the heat in boiling water, and gently ease the string off, undo the remaining hair and go from there...or didnt yours have the string left in place? I dont fancy taking arms off, Im too clumsy, have tried on loads of dolls and always brken them! Luv Suzi x

HI Suzi , Can you email me(cello_ace@hotmail.com) an "idiot's guide" to re-rooting Tressy please as I've not done one before and don't want to ruin here by forcing something off that ought to be gently done etc ? Thanks , Elaine xx
