:-[Hi everyone, I'm Alison, a 36 year old M.E. sufferer from Glasgow, I've been collecting Sindys for just 10 days and already have two with three more on the way !!! I gave away all my original Sindys voluntarily in my teens but apparently some furniture and perhaps clothing remains lost in my parent's loft till they move house in a couple of years.... I spent many happy childhood hours playing with my younger sister with our then 3 storey Sindy house ! Looking forward to getting to know you all, Alison xx.

I've been collecting Sindys for just 10 days and already have two with three more on the way !!! Oh I'm so glad it's not just me! I've been collecting Sindy for one month now and have 11 in the doll case with 3 more on the way not counting two of the brand new Wonderful World of Sindy magazine and repro dolls I ordered... and not counting outfits and accessories either. Yikes. Good thing she is small and doesn't take up much room Welcome, fellow newbie Alison Sunflower

Hi Barbee !! Did you have Sindys as a child too or are you totally new ?!! I'll have nine when all my ebay orders arrive but no intention of going past ten for quite a while - bought quite a few clothes/shoes too but my money is limited so slowing down - actually I think she is a totally gorgeous investment who should at the very least hold her value quite well - but could I ever sell them in hard times now I've got them !!!!!! Love Sunflower xx.

Yes, a gorgeous investment... and a wise investment too, as I always remind dear hubby and anyone else who eyes my doll collection suspiciously I didn't have Sindy as a child, never heard of her till ebay... but as a toddler I did change my Betsy Wetsy's name to Cindy, which may just as well have been Sindy since I couldn't spell when I was three, so clearly she was my dolly destiny Anyway, so great to meet other "addicts"!

what have you been buying since you started sindy collecting?
Recently I've bought my dodgy clone doll, a nice auburn doll with pink dungarees and some pieces of furniture for their house. You might've seen my other post "like Christmas" cos that's what it's been like during the last coupla days. I'm gonna have to lay off buying stuff, cos it's all going on visa and I don't want a scary bill coming in.

Hi Jacki, See my post re Ebay purchases !! In addition to the two bundles of clothes and a few singular outfits I've bought 9 dolls, all different examples of mid 70s to mid 80s Sindys... like you I'm going to have to lay off buying for a while - lol !! Love Alison x.

Alison, my Sindys are also in the mid 70s to 80s (pre-Hasbro) range... personally I find them the prettiest. Oh dear, ebay competition here, eh?! lol Betsy Wetsy was a baby doll made by Ideal. Jacki, I saw your "Christmas" post and can totally relate... except that I have to pick up my mail at the post office where some of the postal workers feel compelled to comment on my haul, asking me why I don't just shop at a store and similar annoying things... yeah right, like I could just go down to the local mart and find cool vintage dolls like Sindy. I wish! Oh and about that Visa bill, I find it helps to remember that we're not doll shoppers, we're investors, some of us even professional Buyers stocking inventory for future ebay sales... yeah, that's it

Barbee, have you skimmed down these forums to get to Ebay Stories ? There's a thread to leave your ebay name so we can all avoid bidding against each other unecessarily, come to an agreement as to who will carry on bidding etc. Please do let us all know what you're called - I'd hate to deprive you of something you've got your heart set on !! Love Alison x.
