Hi Kiki, lovely to meet you. I really am so lucky to have made my hobby into my career, and back round again to become a hobby again. Sindy has taken over my life for the last 2 weeks, she even kept me awake one evening. I had a presentation the next morning so I could have been worried about that, but my head was filled with Sindy and not work related stuff, so I guess you can her it a pleasant distraction?!
Hi Elizabeth
I will get round to making some clothes for Sindy, but the stuff I have seen posted on this website, and the clothes that were made for your girls are so awesome!! I am really gonna have to give it some thought, especially now I have let on that I am a fashion designer - you are gonna be expecting something special!
Hi Becky, I will look forward to receiving your next package. I am busy unpacking some stuff as I am writing this. It's been like Christmas every day for the past week! Just got my first brunette through, she's a lovely looking 2GEN 1077, got a gammy foot, but nothing a
fab pair of boots wont hide.
Hi Fran, I think Sindy is very canny, I am now understanding Becky's post script.....just one more Sindy! I am interested in the 60's and 70's Sindys so far as these are the most familiar, but, like you, I am interested in the history of Sindy so I might aim to have an example of each era or phase of her evolution. The Hasbro doll is so unfamiliar to me and I was definitely a Sindy snob when I was a girl, I just didn't get Barbie? Saying that I think Elizabeth has done some creative things with the Hasbro Sindy.
I have not been lucky bidding on late sixties/ early seventies dolls, they seem to be super popular and super expensive. I guess once I have got a fair selection I can be a bit more focused on the ultimate doll and put some money into her.
I have vaguely heard of PippaDee label, just tried google briefly, saw a few things on eBay.
Hang on a minute by eBay alarm has just gone off............
......excuse me, that has a doll with a belly button that was up for sale, I was the only bidder, so I have just just got my first Sindy from the era that I wanted, there wasn't many details on line, I just knew she had to have a belly button, I will post her when she comes through so you can let me know if I did well or not??
Oh back to PippaDee, yes,( am I waffling?) we do not have rights over the name Pippa, so when we launched the collection online here in the UK in September, we had to change the name, so over here it is called TEGAN.
We may have to change the name in the US too? I was getting quite attached to the name Pippa
Hi Anita
Where were you based in the WRAF, my mum's husband was an engineer on the Harriers?
My husband is fascinated with Aeroplanes and often visits Duxford to sketch the planes, and has taken me to couple of air shows there. I dragged my heels there but once planes started up I was like a kid! I loved the Chinooks (not sure if that is spelt wright?)
Well it's been lovely chatting to you all, and thanks again for making me feel so welcome.
Ps. Where do I go to join in the SS? Not worked out how to pick up or view PMs yet, I will have a little scout before I sign off.
Speak soon
