Hello everyone. My name is Brigid. I am a new Sindy collector, not even 2 weeks yet, I already have 5 Sindys and counting. I was a Sindy girl from an early age, I only had a couple of dolls and a few shop bought clothes but I would spend hours with my grandmother making clothes and knitting jumpers for my Sindy. I also had a couple of Pippa dolls- Marie and Britt. I also loved Twinkle and later Bunty comics which had a cut out doll on the back cover with cut out clothes to dress her. This early obsession with clothes lead to a career in fashion which I am still involved in and still very passionate about. I no longer have my original dolls but am keen to collect the outfits that I remember from my childhood.
My Husband, Zulu1 has been collecting Action Man for the last 2 years, recently I have been helping him customise clothing, stitch stuff for his vehicle projects and dress his men as he finds it a bit fiddly. I originally thought this was a strange hobby for a grown man but now that I have got involved I have found it so much fun.
Funnily enough I am currently working on a womenswear clothing line for Bloomingdales called Pippa! Funny how things come round?
My last two weeks I have put myself on a crash course to learn as much as I can about Sindy - wow there is so much to learn, I had no idea. I am looking forward to building my collection and chatting with members and being inspired by their collections.
Chat soon.
Zulu2 xx

Hi Becky, that was me. That was one of the outfits I remember from my childhood. I have washed, permed and dresses my first Sindy this weekend in the outfit. Your package was beautifully packaged, I had that christmas feeling when I opened it. Thank you so much for the memories. Brigidx

Hello Brigid It's always great to have new members as they each bring new life to the Forum. Where are you located ? Would love to see pics of your knits and your Sindys too. Glad you at least know one member from buying from her. You have time if you wish to put your name down for Secret Santa this year. We do have one or two Pippa fans on board, so you'll have people to chat with about those dolls too as well as Sindy. We have a member here who is very much involved with Action Man and I have a few AMs myself of the footballing variety that I use with my Sindys. Great to meet you and hope I'll chat with you in the various sections of the board soon. ;D Enjoy your time here Warm Regards, Anita xxx

Hi Anita, lovely to meet you.I am based in north London- Stokey to be more precise. It would be fun to join in the secret santa, I will try and find the relevant link tonight. I have enthusiastically spent a small fortune over the last couple of weeks all on Sindy with a few Tammy and Misty dolls for measure. They are coming through thick and fast, it is a full time job keeping up with the payments and the feedback. Pippa is gonna have to wait!! I had a very handsome Action Man as a child that was my Sindy's boyfriend, sooo much more handsome than Pete, in my opinion. My Sindys are not quite presentable yet but I will post some photos when they are scrubbed up and ready for their close ups. Hi Patricia, I have only just scratched the surface it seems, but I am having fun learning. I am sure that I will have lots of questions soon too. Thank you for your warm welcomes. Brigid XX

Hello Brigid! And a very warm welcome! Zulu1 told me to look out for you over on the AMan board! My 6 yr old, Hannah and I have a great time here making up stories etc, and recently my wife, Donna has joined in having redisovered a love for Tressy! There's just not enough time! We did have a fashion contest earlier this year which was great fun! We also had a travelling Sindy, and we loved having her stay with us here in Blackpool!!! Looking forward to more of your posts! Jim

Hi Jim! Hannah and Donna. I spotted AManfromCoalville when I was first browsing the forum, it was Zulu1's idea that I should join a forum as he has had so much fun and support on the AVMH and VAME sites. When I shouted out your name Tony said that he knew you so I new this was the right forum to join and looked no further. I never had a Tressy, but I had a Sheena which also had growing hair, I loved her too! You must be busy with the both forums!! I will look forward to chatting with you and your girls. Brigid

Thanks Brigid. Sometimes I've lost a bit of patience, I can tell you. I love to hear from those who can make clothes as I'm no good at that at all. I only wish I were. Working on a line for Bloomingdales sounds exciting!

Hi again Brigid.I will warn you now, this girl Sindy is naughty. She is seriously addictive! She is like your first real love, you can never quite get them out of your head! I have just returned to the site after a long sojourn, and I can honestly say that everyone is so helpful and just lovely. Not like some forums, where it can get bitchy. I don't collect Action Man but I am interested in that area of collecting. My partner doesn't collect but he is becoming a bit of a Sindy expert! I also collect Anna Moore[nearly have all items boxed as well]as I am also into horse riding]and I also have a few special addition Barbies, spesh the International series. My Sindy interest mainly centres on the 70s and early 80,until Hasbro ruined her.Saying that though,I do have some boxed Hasbros to show her progression. Your job sounds fab.It reminded me of those Pippa Dee clothes parties in the 70s that my mum used to go to! Hope you get as much fun out of Sindy as I do.It is an ongoing obssession for me-My name is Fran and I am a Sindy addict!
