Hi,
my name is Jilly and I am quite new to Sindy collecting but already hooked. I have a few dolls now and some furniture items but don't really know what is what and I've just been going by the memories I have of the items I had in my childhood. I'm eager to learn more about the different items though and stumbled across this site in my search for information.
What a lovely idea to have a forum for like minded people, most of my friends and family think I've lost the plot, lol.
I have a little girl who is nearly 4 and she's the only person that enjoys looking at, buying and playing with Sindy's with me. My husband just rolls his eyes and counts my dolls when he comes home in case another one has appeared, haha.
Anyway, looking forward to 'meeting' you all x

Hi Jilly and welcome. A few years ago I found myself wanting to recollect Sindy and I found this site which is fantastic. There's usually someone who can help with Sindy queries and everyone is lovely and friendly. I hope you have fun with your collecting.

Hi Jilly,
I started collecting around 10 years ago when my daughter was about 4 it was great we would go to the car boot sale and come home and play with our purchases.
Things have changed, 1) you can't get anything Sindy at car boot sales anymore and 2) my daughter is 14 and I have no excuse. I get the rolling eyes from her now.
Look forward to chatting to you.
Jill x

Hi and Jilly, I started collecting Sindy after I found my childhood Sindy at a market about 14 years ago. Now I just about buy every Sindy I can find at local markets. I have 3 daughters and I am the only one really interested in dolls. My girls are in their 20's now and I get the treatment. But............my youngest (20) did suggest the other day that we get her Barbie collection off the loft!!!!!! She wants to see them again. xxx

:)Welcome Jilly.
Well i'm a 41 year old fella and i also set off my 45 year old fella off with collecting too. We have thousands of dolls between us. I get mixed comments from different folk. Many are amazed and show some interest. I get the comments a lot that 'i bet they are worth a bob or two' Then others who cant understand folk collecting anything and hate their houses having any sort of stuff they call clutter say 'i'd ebay the lot'.
Most understand me though really as i have always been a doll person. I loved it when i was old enough not to care what anyone thought and got my own dolls big style.
Carl and kevin xx

Hi Jilly and welcome. I started out buying my childhood Sindys. My few quickly grew into a community! They have a way of implanting themselves in your house! : Your husband should be worried!
