hi I'm new to sindy collecting (about 2 months) and to forums so please bear with me as I'm not used to posting and I'm missing the pc gene that youngsters seem to have! I just wanted to say hi and hopefully meet experienced collectors and make new friends. I'm mom to two boys one of whom has autism and I home educate him, I live in a quiet village and because of my home situation I don't get out much and devote my time to my family and now to sindy when they are in bed:) I already have a small collection (probably minute compared to everyone else!) but I'm really enjoying all aspects of sindy collecting although I'm making a few mistakes along the way... I buy mostly from ebay and already have a list of most trusted, fave sellers and a list of people that have made a fool of me! I hope some of the lovely sellers are here and may recognise me I hope I've posted this correctly and you actually get to read it! thank you for reading and allowing me to join your group x

Hi Mumsy Good to have you aboard. ;D We are a friendly group, so whenever you need help after reading through the many threads here, just ask It's a bit quiet just lately but it gives you chance to read through the Forum section by section. A lot of what you might want to ask about might already be asked in among one of the threads already posted, so it's always recommended that new members just browse for a while to get used to the layout, especially if they've never been on a Forum before. I think every one of us has been "had" on eBay at one time or another. I think they see us Sindy collectors coming Hopefully, being a member here will help you get a better understanding of what to buy and who to buy it off. It's good that you are already making a list of trusted sellers. We have an eBay section where we let each other know who the good sellers are and warn each other about the bad ones. We also have a good mank and moan about the Auctions we'd set our hearts on winning but lost out on at the last minute or whatever. I hope that you will eventually post pics of your collection and that you make a lot of friends through this Forum Luv Anita xxx

Hi Mumsy,
Welcome to the forum. It does take time to get the hang of this but that doesn't take too long, believe me.
How many dolls do you have as I don't have all that many either. And about e-bay, I have yet to buy online yet. Still too afraid to. So scared of being 'had'.
Wish you well with the boys and hopefully we will see more of you on the forum.
bye,

Hello, nice to meet you, Im Alyson and I am a new collector too. I also have a child with autism and because of this realise that we all need a little escapism. Hope you enjoy your visits to the forum and your time with your dolls, just as I do.

hi thank you all so much for your greetings, I'm going to spend some time working my way round the forum now and read plenty of posts to help me understand how it works I only have 11 dolls at the moment but I'm pleased with the ones I have, I'm also on a tight budget so have to constantly stop myself going too mad! I'm sticking to dolls and outfits that I really like rather than what others seem to like. I love the 70s so thank goodness there's lots of mad flares for sindy! I've just had a Warhol pop art canvass done of my boys and I was just thinking how cool would sindy look photographed like that! Maybe someone has already had one made.. I'm off to read old messages now to learn a bit more and find my way around xxx

A 60s Sindy would look amazing in a 60s Warhol print. I expect there is one somewhere! It would be nice to make one if not and print it out and put it on the walls of Sindys house!

Hi Mumsy and welcome.
Haven't been on here quite as often as usual lately - life's just got a bit more hectic of late, but it's a great place to come and share your interests and get some great tips!
Look forward to chatting more soon.
Love Susan x
