I joined this site ages ago but have never posted so I thought I'd introduce myself. I started collecting Sindy's about three years ago and only have 4 so far. And one paul but he's 90's hasbro one so he's not very good I've successfully re-rooted one and have started doing another but she's an old pedigree one and is proving harder than the first one I did which was Hasbro 90's one. There's pictures of them on my doll blog which is listed on my profile if anyone wants to see them. It's great to find somewhere I can talk to other Sindy collectors about my collection. As I'm sure my friends secretly think I'm insane for collecting her! ;D

Hi Nancy, I like your Hasbro Sindy reroot, she suits the dark hair. I have a Hasbro doll like this with a half finished reroot, I really must get her finished. Welcome to the site, no-one here will think you are insane for collecting Sindy! Di

Welcome to the site, no-one here will think you are insane for collecting Sindy!Di I know that's why I love the place. ;D I don't understand why people do think it's so weird as it's quite a legitimate thing to collect. I know plenty of fully grown men who collect old star wars toys and no one calls them crazy!

Hello and Welcome Nancy Nice to have you aboard and hope you make loads of friends here!! You will soon want more dolls once you start looking at all of the threads that are on here!! You're definitely not insane - I've made a lot of nice friends since I started collecting Sindy again. We've even met up and had some fun together, which is brilliant as we all have Doll Collecting in common as a base to start from. ;D I think most of us can relate to what you say as some of my regular friends have the same feelings as yours do. Sadly, it is them that are missing out on all the fun that can be had as a Doll Collector. Anyway, good that you have joined us and hope to chat with you Anon Luv Anita xxx

Yes I never realised it was so simple to replace an old dolls hair, it gets incredibly painful after a while pulling the needle through the head over and over again, but it's simple. Next time I'm re-rooting I'll post a picture of what my hand looks like after half an hour just to show people how dedicated we are! ;D

For the first one I did I got a late Sindy (she's a hasbro one) so if I messed it up I wouldn't have ruined a pedigree head. It went well so I'm now re-rooting a pedigree doll, it is harder as the plastic is tougher than the hasbro one was. I actually bent the needle today and need to order a new one the head is so hard! But apart from that it is going well.

The first one I did I completely changed her appearance too, she was blonde when I got her and I gave her black hair. It really suites her actually she was one of the Hasbro Sindys with Purple eyes so it looks good. I'm going to have to get some new long needles before I can carry on with the one I'm currently doing as the needle actually bent while I was trying get the front of her head done.
