Hello! I'm a doll collector from Greece, so first of all i apologise for my english . When i was a little girl, in the beginning of 1980's, my first fashion doll was of course a sindy pedigree active ballerina I loved her, although i had no clothes to dress her, they were extremely expensive in Greece and i suppose that my parents couldn't afford it. My lovely doll was dancing every day for years and today she remains in good shape, but she cannot bend her elbows and ankles anymore . In 1982, el greco, a greek toy company made our national greek fashion doll. She was called bibi-bo Bibi bo had blonde hair, an active body and plastic blue eyes with rooted eyelashes. El greco was bought by hasbro and closed down in late 80'sl. In our days, bibi-bo is extremely collectible and very hard to find, even in used condition. Hasbro never relaunched her. She was suddenly dissapeard and sindy hasbro took the market in Greece. In 1988, barbie also came in Greece! I started to collect dolls last year and i collect only bibi-bo, sindy (hasbro and pedigree) and vintage barbie. I still have my first and solely fashion dolls that i owned as a child and love them as my kids. I hope we have lot to say and many experiences about dolls to share!

:)Welcome.
Likewise great to read about your doll affections from your childhood and that you still have your original dolls. I love tall Hasbro Sindy she was unique and special in her own way. I remember vintage Pedigree Sindys clothes being quite expensive too during the 70's and 80's here in England. Back then kids made do with Mum and Grandmas homemade stuff for them more than spoilt kids of today would accept.

Hi Carl and Kevin! As a kid, i had only two dolls, one bibi-bo and one sindy pedigree ballerina. El greco copied pedigree and made a similar body for bibi-bo, but unfortunately not so durable. My sindy did it well with ballet, bibi-bo didn't and one sad day her body broke. But, i could use my ballerina's body for both heads! They are compatible. Anyway, i bought a new body for my bibi-bo and now i have my two girls, one with not her original body! I love them and take good care of them! Carl, which is tall sindy? the second hasbro between 1988-1993? i search the forum, i have lot of questions and all of you are the right people in the right place! Thank you all!

Hi Joanna Nice to have you aboard. ;D We have one other collector from Greece - a lady called Lucretia/Stella and she too likes some of the Hasbro Sindys and Bibi-bo dolls. I see from your lovely website that as well as several ranges of Sindy, you also collect Barbie. I too collect some of the late Hasbro and Vivid Imagination Sindys and I have one or two of the ones you show on your website, so we'll have loads to chat about in the Hasbro and Vivid Imagination sections as well as the Pedigree sections. You have one Sindy from the late Hasbro Era that I think both Carl and I would like to add to our collections whenever we can find it on Ebay UK. If you look in the Other Dolls section of the Forum, you will find a thread dedicated solely to Little Debbie, as I have all 5 of them that were produced You will also find a thread about Bibi-bo dolls that Lucretia started several months ago I look forward to chatting to you on the boards soon Luv Anita xxxx
