I came across this site when searching for sindy stuff to buy and what a great site it is, so informative. But I made the mistake of not introducing myself and was hastily pointed in the right direction, so here goes..... As a child I remember hours of fun playing with my sindy dolls and furniture. As a teenager I gave them away. Now that I have my own daughter who is interested in playing with dolls, I find that Barbie is just not quite the same as Sindy, so decided to see if I could get her a Sindy doll. Started looking on ebay and then remembered how nice the furniture was, so decided to get her some furniture as well. Wish I had kept it all. I just don't really know where to begin. Never used ebay before so don't even know how to bid! But look forward to having a look at the tips on this forum. I can see myself becoming obsessive about all this though

Hi Driab! welcome along. What era sindy are you most interested in? I have twin girls so that means I need two over everything (doesnt it? ) As for ebay, just be careful, check your listings carefully, research the items you are buying, never assume that the seller knows anything about what they are selling and dont get caught up in bidding wars. start with little items to begin with. On ebay up the top of the page there is a button called community and if you pop in there there are forums full of usually helpful people who can point you in the right direction with ebay hiccups. cheers nic

Hi Good to have you aboard. It's nice you want to share how you felt about Sindy with your own daughter now she is old enough Nic made some good points about Ebay - another tiip is to always look at the feedback of the person you want to deal with and read what previous buyers have said about them. It gives you a good starting point when buying. Hope to chat to you on other parts of the Forum Luv Anita xxx

Hi Driab, Welcome to the forum. I have bought quite a few Sindy's and furniture/accessories for my daughter as they are so much nicer then the dolls of today. The biggest problem with Sindy and Ebay is that once you start, you'll be hopelessly addicted and won't stop! Di

Hello to everyone who has kindly replied to my initial post. Yes I am finding ebay addictive and have bought a few bits and pieces already but am holding out for a nice active ballerina doll with working ankles and non-blonde hair (my husband is against the blonde barbie image as my daughter has lovely brown curls and is already so negative about her hair!) However that seems to be not so easily available. I can't decide how much to expect to pay for one because I saw one WITHOUT working ankles for £55! I may have to look up the posts for restoration and see how difficult that is to do My husband has questioned whether I am really doing this for my daughter or for me. I did have to stop and think about that!!!

Welcome to the forum Driab! Nice to have another Sindy fan on board! I'm sure you will love your time with the guys and gals on the forum, and once Sindy has you hooked, there is no hope of escape I'm afraid!!! I am starting to think we should start a forum for "Husbands of Sindy Collectors"! They could share their woes! Look forward to chatting with you, and seeing some pics of your growing collection. I must say by the way, £55 for a ballerina with non working ankles is a bit steep! I bought a Mint in Box brunette ballerina for £75. However, that was a good price! Good luck with your Ebaying - another addiction I'm afraid! Lisa xxxx
