Hello I posted a question but was sent up here for not introducing myself first! oops, sorry *blush* I am 36, originally from the UK but have been living in Australia for 14 years. My parents just ressurected my Sindy collection and I am so glad they shipped it all the way to Australia and didn't just bin the lot when they moved! I had a daughter 10 months ago after 2 boys and I think I have become a little obsessed with Sindy now I have a reason to play hahaha And she will probably be mortified I have this Sindy collection for her when all she wants are ugly Bratz or something! My husband says he is going to buy me an anorak for Christmas for my nerdish collecting behavior hahah Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all and getting some help with my many questions. My question was how to fix Treny Dolls woolly hair. ETA I decided I would collect anything from the years were I played with Sindy and all the things my mum wouldn't buy including house and furniture as i can clearly remember her calling that a heap of plastic rubbish I can see she is cringing now haha But now I have been given a trendy girl which was before my time I am addicted to early 70s clothes too. But the scene setters I am truly addicted to Thanks!

Hi Scmunket!
I am in Australia too, Perth. Sounds like you are into the same things as me as I love all things 70's athough cant extend myself to the scenesetters.
I look forward to seeing some of your dolls.
This is a lovely forum with lots of groovy people to help.
On you trendy problem, I wish there was an easy fix, but I have saved a few trendies now with Loreal Elvive dry hair intensive conditioner (in the pot) the serum and the shampoo. Whack the conditioner in and leave it for a while and brush out all the knots. then you can try to sculpt it into shape, you can put a headband around the upper head to get the hair to settle down, or put a lacky band around the hair at neck level.
or you can wrap a pipecleaner around the hair and neck and brush the hair back up over the pipecleaner for a flick and leave it overnight or even better for a few days.
Never use very hot or boiling water on the hair or you will fry it.
cheers nic

Thanks Nic Her hair isn't knotty, just sort of felted if that makes sense. I actually bought some wig shampoo but do you think the Loreal would be better? I am in Sydney. I recognise your user name, maybe from Ebay??? Do you not like the scenesetters?

Hi there and welcome! I love your story, I think its something we all have in common, a rediscovering of our childhood favourite doll. She is just timeless isn't she? I too love the scenesetters! Only problem is where to put it all!!! I am hoping to clear out our study and then I can use the desk to set it all up! As I am the only girl in the house (one hub and 2 small boys) I am staking my claim!!! Glad you enjoyed my link to the photo stories - they are hilarious aren't they? I'm waffling ... welcome to the forum! Lisa xxxxx

Lisa, I have no idea where to put half of it either. We are renovating next year and I want a whole Sindy house size cupboard with a lock in the new playroom! I can play with the rest of them but lock it when I am not around That is if I ever get my house. All bought and paid for and not so nice lady now wanting 100 pounds more to ship it to me Anyway, thanks for the welcome!
