Hello,
I've just joined the site and so am introducing myself as requested.
My Sindy collection is mid 70's I suppose and has been languishing in the loft for the last 15 years or so. It has moved around into various lofts though. I kept hold of it for my children, but having two boys they really aren't interested, so it will be time soon for it to go to a loving home.
Had a rummage today and it all looks so much less in the box than I remember, but it did bring back some special memories. I had the cardboard house that slotted together into 4 rooms fanning out from a cross (not sure how else to explain it) and I remember it had cardboard furniture to go with it, if you didn't have the plastic stuff. As far I can remember though I only used the washing machine, as I did have lots of the plastic stuff. Anyone else remember this house? My friend had the 3 / 4 storey one and I was jealous.

Hiya Fluffytapper - a very warm welcome to the forum - you will find lots of friendly sindy people here to talk to! There are also lots of experienced collectors who can help you with questions and queries. I can remember both the houses you refer to - I was lucky enough to have the 4 storey one that had the spiral staircase from 1981 (this house it much coveted by collectors now) but as with a lot of other collectors alas this house went to sindy heaven somewhere! Really look forward to seeing photos of you childhood collection - have you been to the delights of ebay yet? Believe me it's quite amazing how much sindy stuff is out there!! There are also lots of customisers/ restorers of old roughed up sindy's so if you are interested in that then pop along to the ooak section. So get posting and having a good old sindy chat !! Cheers and hope to chat soon Janee xx

Thanks Janee,
Since I started browsing, I've been wondering what ooak means?
Sadly, I don't think I'll be buying in ebay, more likely selling, once I've had one last Sindy nostalgia trip!
I've been looking around the site and thinking wistfully of mules and brown boots and the like. I wonder whether I still have the clothes somewhere?

OOAK = a 'one of a kind' item (e.g. a Sindy customised by someone)

Hi Fluffytapper! (great name!) Welcome to the forum! I too love the 70's stuff, and can't believe how much I have fallen back in love with Sindy, her clothes and furniture. When and if you do decide to sell your stuff, there is a great shop called Groovycart which you might find useful. You will have lots of interested buyers amongst us!!! Look forward to chatting really soon. Lots of love, Lisa xxxxx

Hi and Welcome Hope you enjoy your time here at Sindy Online. ;D As has already been said, this is a very friendly site, which is also well policed - someone will always be about and willing to help you find an answer to any questions you have, provided they know that answer, but if they don't, they will try and point you in the direction to finding that answer, so never be afraid to ask for help/advice at any time... Above all, we hope you make loads of friends here and that you generally like coming here to share Sindy or other doll stuff with us Loads of Love Anita xxx
