hi everyone, dont want to make anyone feel sad but how does everyone feel about the "jade goody" saga. I for one have been so upset each day to read/watch her life and was devastated this morning(even though we knew it was coming) to read of her death. however.... my mum thinks it is sooo wrong to put herself in the limelight at what my mum thinks is a private affair. plus neil(hubby) cant watch/read as it upsets him and he cant bear to think about it.
i understand how she is doing all this for her children and all credit to her i think i would do anything if it meant my kids would have a better life. also apparently more women have had smears since this, which is only a good thing??
just wondering on peoples thoughts?
God bless her and watch over her children xxxxx

Hi Penny Oh i was so sad too and cried when i heard i think it is tragic and sad as i too was following her story as i was a huge fan of hers anyway and i loved to watch Big Brother I know she wasn't everyone's cup of tea but i thought what you see is what you got with Jade . I had met Jade a while ago only for a brief moment and she was so down to earth and such a bubbly person so she will be sadly missed It was the media who made her really and i can understand why she wanted her life to be publicised so that her children would get a better life and to bring awareness on the importance of regular smear tests which she has done now. I may be going to put some flowers as i come from Essex myself So young a life really. Jade is free from pain now and is looking down on her little ones Val x

I think it is really sad that she has died so young leaving 2 small children , i think it is every mothers worst nightmare . I didnt really like her on Big brother or on celebrity big brother but i have warmed to her over the last few months and think she was a decent person and has shown remorse for the CBB saga . I dont read any of the celeb magazines but did watch her wedding and cried a few tears , she was so brave and she really has raised awareness about cervical cancer . debbiex

Hi Penny. I saw a forum on yahoo yesterday, there were some absolutely vile people saying the most horrible disgusting things about Jade and comparing it with our war heroes and Princess Di...that's how stupid they were! Of course we think about our troops, but Jade was "one of us". How can you not like Jade and not feel any sympathy! Not that she was ever out for sympathy! On the contrary she was all out to raise awareness not get the public to feel sorry for her. I never liked her in BB,didn't really watch it then, but after that with all her shows and antics, she showed what a hilarious and lovely person she was. Totally normal, never affected by stardom. Always had time for anyone and everyone..have you ever seen any other celeb actually saying "thank you" to the paparazzi! I completely understand why she made the final series. Even when she was so ill,she was always laughing and smiling. Just such a loveable nutter! It's so sad when anyone dies, but she did a great thing by showing us all how tragic it can be to die so young and leave kids behind. What a fantastic mother she was, shame about the prat she married, but if he made her happy for her last few weeks,it's all good. God bless her little cotton socks. x

thankyou all for your input it was really interesting to read your thoughts. It felt a bit strange in church this morning after i had started this thread the vicar did his sermon on jade and i thought OMG he is a sindy online member in hiding!!! he used so many of our collective thoughts on the situation but then i thought this must be how most of UK are thinking. It was very uplifting when he ended with.... " The bbc headlined Jade Goody has lost her battle with cancer but how wrong they are Jade was never a loser always a winner and she has won the biggest prize we all hope for better than winning big brother Jesus has taken her in to be with him" believe me there was no dry eye in the church. We are lucky to have such a great up to date vicar who uses modern day life to explain gods work.

i found the whole thing just heartbreaking, i neither liked or disliked her, but no one at that young age deserved to have thier life cut so short by such a cruel diesese. Especially when it was the preventable cancers.
She is free from pain now, and rightly or wrongly everything she done the last few months of life was all for those boys that will grow up without her.

Hi Girls My thoughts on this echo yours Donna in that I neither liked or disliked Jade and I find it sad that she had to die so young . I really hope that the Medics and the Government will take on board that the age when women start to have smears needs to be lowered much more significantly now because of what Jade went through. I think smears should start at age 18 as sadly, the majority of girls are already active by this age - if you get my drift - whether we want them to be or not. I do think that smears need to be done at more regular intervals as it has sadly been proved that doing them every 3-5 years is too long a gap. It would be better if they were every 2 years and if someone has the slightest hint of cancerous cells I think they should be monitored yearly after treatment Your local vicar sounds great Penny. ;D Luv Anita xxx
