I am a composition baby doll collector, who fell for Sindys sweet face! I only have the one, so I can't really call myself a Sindy collector ...yet I love her though, and those wonderful "Vintage British" fashions of hers. I am appalled to see how little of her wardrobe is available in the States, so I may have a real hunt on my hands. I think she is going to tire of wearing her McDonalds uniform quickly...she has already kicked off her shoes. I am looking forward to perusing the forum, ogling your wonderful girls, and learning what I can about this new girl of mine. EDIT:Picture link edited to display pic. by Admin

Hi bmd Nice to have another American collector in our midst!! I hope you'll make loads of cyber friends amongst us I used to have one or two of the compositon Baby Dolls as a child but they were so heavy to cart about Sindy was lighter, smaller and much more portable, so the heavier dolls got left behind and neglected once Sindy entered the scene I hope you'll soon find your way around the Forum Boards, but, don't be afraid to ask one of us to help you out if you get stuck as we'll all be happy to help you out. There is a How To section that Cheryl has set up and is constantly adding to, with hints and tips inside it including a thread on posting pics. We mostly use Imageshack on here and you'll find the browse button on each post to make sharing pics a bit easier. We try as much as possible to post only Thumbnails to save space but sometimes that isn't always possible - for the most part we've done OK though. Check out the section on Buying and Selling on here as there's information on there that will help you a lot, with links to useful sites including one called Groovycart that has several shops on there that are selling Sindy stuff and OOAK items. Some of the members here have shops on Groovycart selling their spare Sindy items instead of using Ebay these days. Other members make OOAK clothes and jewellery for Sindy, Barbie etc and sell it on Groovycart or Etsy, which is an American site, I believe. That one may be of much more interest for you and of course there's Ebay UK - you will be sure to find something different for your girl to wear if you look in any one of those areas!! ;D Good Luck with it anyway! Chat to you again soon, Luv Anita xxx

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I was amazed to see how many Sindy collectors there are, you are legion I know that I will enjoy my girl, and have at least found a pair of shoes for her from a generous Canadian collector. I was very confused about what clothing to try to get for her, and especially the shoes since there have been so many different Sindy body types manufactured. It is my understanding that she has the Pedigree body, and I would appreciate a correction if I am wrong. I was also a little nervous about "playing" with her, as her uniform is what makes her the Special Edition, ...but I don't want a doll I can't play with so, caution to the wind! Anita, I appreciate all the buying tips & sites you referred me too, it should be fun to shop for her once I am certain about what clothes to look for. My thanks as well to whomever resized & reposted (?) my pic for me!

Be careful, Sindy can be addictive. Once you start collecting you won't be able to stop.
Sindy has so many wonderful vintage outfits you will find yourself lost for choice but then you
get to realise that you NEED one of everything. Then the Dolls - Blonde, Brunette, Titian.
Active, Trendy, Funtime. 1960's, 1970's, 1980's, 1990's.....There is no end.
Welcome to the Forum, You will get lots of support from us addicts.
Jill x
