Hi everyone ,
I've been hovering around the site for the last couple of days since my application was accepted, just trying to get a feel for the place and the people here...and it's great ...just like being in the school playground when I was a little girl in the 60's....all we talked about then was Sindy too!
My story is slightly different to the one's I've managed to read so far (there are so many!! ) in that I never had a Sindy as a child ...I had an awful CLONE (and I mean AWFUL ), because the clones were 14/11 (fourteen shilling and eleven pence....almost 75p for the younger members), and Sindy was 63/11...£3.20 ish).
How I longed for a REAL Sindy...then one day, a VERY spoilt friend of mine (who had two Sindy's...and anything else available in 1964) swapped one of hers for some thing of mine and I owned her for one whole night...then her mum made her swap back !!
There are many years and many stories between then and now, but eventually I found the EXACT replica of the original swapped Sindy on Ebay by chance....(you know how it has to be exactly the right face to bring back the memory???)...and when she arrived, I was right back in my friend's house, handing her over and crying...only this time I WAS'NT...she's MINE!!!
Since then, I've got dozens of different Sindy's and hundreds of clothes, but none have given me the thrill that the first one did...they are just a pleasure in their own right!!
I have recently started buying lots of TLC's and creating OOAK 's and re-roots....
Thanks for accepting me to your lovely website!!
