Okay, I'll continue with the photos some other day. I bought the dresses from a Finnish doll clothes maker who sells in the Finnish 'ebay', so they are not made by me (I wouldn't be able to). Some of the houses were barbie pink, which I have spray painted.
Good night (it's 2 hous earlier here than in UK),

Fabulous photos, Susanna; I have enjoyed looking at them a lot. The houses and settings you're making for your dolls are so imaginative How difficult is it to spray paint the dolls' furniture?

Hi Liz,
spray painting the plastic is easy, but it's perhaps best done in an environment, where the smell doesn't disturb too much nor the flying stuff, like small insects, mix with the paint (not a pleasant death for poor insects). It takes a few days for the smell to disappear, even though the paint itself seems dry enough.
I have spray painted only the floors, ceilings and the corner columns of the plastic houses. I didn't use any pre-paint, even though it might make the paint last longer. But since I'm not 'playing' with the houses that much, it doesn't matter to me. In the floors I used grey and black paint. In the corner columns mainly copper or silver, but I added green to make them look 'moulded' or old. The green spray paint dropped as small 'sparkles': I pressed the button of the spray can only a little - and when the paint cannot come freely, it comes out as drops of paint. One should let the first layer dry for a day before adding the next layer.
The walls I painted with ordinary acrylic paints. I wanted to make ornaments, but didn't manage yet.
In a witch house one could do many witch-type decorations and make the rooms more gloomy, add some spider nest fabrics and so on. I also liked the idea of tearing wallpaper, so one can see the 'old' wall paper from below.

About the furniture: one should take the furniture into pieces and paint the bottom side first and the the top side (or the opposite way), so that paint can dry in between. When really dry then put the pieces together. They should be left to dry somewhere, where leaves, insects and other things from nature don't fly around. Probably the professionals would create a dust free tent for the painting, but I'm not that fuzzy about it. - Susanna

Thank you, Susanna, that is extremely helpful I am always interested in finding different ways to customise dolls' houses/furniture. Dad and I have recently begun to build a dolls' house for display, so your advice is very helpful. There is also a paint another forum member told me about called Plasti-Kote (I think that's the right name). I haven't yet used any, so am not sure how different it would look to spray-paint.

Hi again, I wanted to add some Sindy pictures too, but it has taken some time, because I have been working and been tired. Thank you for all for your wellcoming me. I would like to learn how your house project is evolving Liz? What about the bratz and daughters 'get together', Dawn? I'm curious to know what are you planning? I hope this works. I wanted to show some images of a theatre plan. I don't have a proper house, just some bookshelf, where I decorate: I wish you all A Very Good New Year!

Susanna, it's great to hear from you again. You have so many lovely Sindy dolls! The decoration is fantastic, especially your use of the Van Gogh paintings and the ornate mirrors. Hopefully I will be able to start decorating the first room in my Sindy house soon. Dad and I have ordered some materials and I bought some little pots of paint.

Great - I look forward to hearing how things go, especially with the paint for plastics. Sindy's orange and brown bathroom suite is just crying out to be painted in less headache-inducing colours! ;D By the way, could I just ask where you bought the paint from?
