Hi there Im Nicky and live in Perth. Im a mum of a nearly 4yo boy and 1yo twin girls. I had Sindy in the 70's a blonde 77 ballerina and 76 titian lovely lively and they were the best. I an still remember the torture of being in the toyshop trying to decide whether to get the ballerina or the superstar skater. Mum said the ballerina was better cos she thought the skates would limit the ankles! I got the bug again recently visiting my sister and spending and hour laughing at her as she had a secret crissy doll stash. That night I bid on my first sindy. I collect ballerinas and 70's girls I love the rivet arm sindys. I also got that superstar. I have already done leg fixes, arm swaps hair saves and a reroot on a 1974 funtime that had fried straw for hair. My best bargain was a $20.00 scungy ballerina that cleaned up into the most perfect 1975 ballerina with the corded shoes and everything. I was initially annoyed with the slippers thinking someones mum had fixed them Anyway thats my novel and I really look forward to talking Sindy with other enthusiasts and addicts nic

Hi everyone thank you for your wishes! Val, that is Dawn in the corner. Someone gave her to me when I was 8 and I found her the other day. She was my first re-root as she had bad hair ( and a slightly green head) it was great fun, but I should have thought a bit more about how green skin and pink hair go together! o and I just noticed your avatar piccie is exactly the same as my superstar sindy! Yes Helen, that was me who bought your sindy! Truth be told I have probably bought something off most of the people who post here kind regards nic

Hi Nicki - welcome from sunny England! It has actually been sunny this last week! It's a lovely autumn full of fresh October breezes and gorgeous coloured falling leaves! Gosh a 4 year old and twins? Wow you must be busy! I have an 11 month old son and we are trying again but to be honest we are both really scared about how we will cope with 2! Anyway - sindy - I love your dolls and look forward to seeing more pics of your collection. I'm really into ooaks and reroots as well as my original girls from the 70's and 80's. If you enjoy rerooting and plan to do more then the 2gen dolls are excellent candidates mainly because of their soft heads. Look forward to chatting soon - cheers Janee x

Thanks Janee, im in perth so its sunny here a lot. I just called the aircon guy for the summer service as it was 31 here yesterday. yep im busy. the first year with twins is easy. from 14 months on (now) its hard for a while cos they have the energy of puppies and the emotions of a beligerent drunk. And yes, keep your sindy door shut, I have already had severe sindy carnage from a 1yo who wanted to say hello to all the dollys. no harm just some messed hair. you never know you might get twins too. There are no twins in my family till now! hahahaha
o i will correct my comment about 2 gens. I do have some real sweeties. I just have issues with the ones with big heads and harsh facepaint. I have one of those too. she disturbs me.
talk soon - probably with a 12 hour delay.
