Hi - must be going through mid life crisis (well almost as I am still only 37). Some of my Sindy's only came out of their box about month ago (the rest I thought were safely stored at my mums house), not quite sure why as a month seems so long ago.
I can see what all the buzz is about on ebay and some of the Sindy sites are great esecially for research.
I thought I would try my hand a re-rooting so promptly ordered some hair from restore doll sites. Sadly my mum lives 70 miles away and by the time I had got there to get my older dollies - well guess what? we could not find them. So now I am stuck with enough hair to re-root 5 dolls but no dolls worthy of needing it.
So I thought I woud pick up some 'replacement' dolls on ebay only to find that its really hard to get a doll at a reasonable price without needing too much TLC or honest descriptions (perhaps I am just fussy) as the ones I have picked up were just lets say....half eaten, mutant, hungover looking.
A few words of intro you said..... well I could go on and on, I am quite busy so won't be visiting that often, so don't think of me as being rude, just busy

Hi Louise
Welcome to the forum. It is a lovely friendly place. I have only been around here for a couple of weeks but already I have had so much advice to guide me through my first rerooting attempt. My project is a soft headed Sindy which I think has been much easier for a first attempt than a hard headed. It might be worth asking sellers on ebay if they are hard or soft heads before you bid. Good luck - I hope you find the right doll soon. I am really enjoying my rerooting so I am sure you will. Sue xx

Hi Louise Welcome aboard and make yourself at home You'll find lots of hints and tips for re-rooting when the time comes on this Forum. Hope you get a Sindy soon that only needs a re-root - just keep looking until the right one comes along, but, in the meantime, I do hope the ones left at your mun's do turn up!! Hope to chat at another time Cheers, Anita xxx

Hi Louise A very big from me too! I've been on this great forum since last October and love every minute of it. I've gone from having no Sindys to a collection of 14 and I've now done 3 reroots thanks to the help and advice I've received on this site. So be patient and the right doll will come along! The best advice I can offer is to look for a 70-90s doll with a soft head and ball jointed neck [rather than the thin neck types attached to the head] as these are easier for your first attempt. What colour hair have you bought- some of us prefer natural colours whereas other go for pinks, blues, etc Speak soon Bxxxxx

Hi everyone - thanks for your kind welcome messages, this site is fab, but I am still finding my way round it (so bare with me please).
Since my last post I have managed to pick up 3 good quality dolls, I have scalped them and neally ready to go.
I am not sure on the choice of colours I have bought, so if anybody is after 'Saran Auburn x2 packs' and has a pretty brown/brunnette colour and would like to swap please let me know. It is really pretty but I also bought 'Copper Penny' and they are very similar. I was really after a chestnut kind of colour (a bit like mine before I needed to hidde the greys). I think I will try midnight black first as the sindy I have in mind has bright red lips.
