I've just joined and wanted to say hello to everyone ^__^
I customise Volks and obitsu edit kit dolls, but recently found a beautiful Sindy doll in a local charity shop for 50p! I believe she is a Funtime Sindy? She has 033050X on her head and made in Hong Kong 033126X on her back and 033127X on her bum - have I identified her correctly?
She has almost perfect make-up and body, but her hair is horrible and I want to reroot her rock hard head, so I will be asking for advice on that on the how to forum.
She reminds me of my youth when I had so many wonderful dolls as a 10 year old back in 1976 ^__^

Hi Welcome to the forum. The sindy you have sounds like a 1974 funtime sindy Have a look to see if the 6 is an 8 on the numbers between her shoulders Does she have solid legs that when you sit her down, go out in a triangle and not directly in front of sindy ? How you have fun on the forum and a great place to learn about re-rooting is the doll restoration section of the forum. Have fun and hope to chat to you soon ;D

Thankyou for the welcome ^__^
It's definitely a 6, I checked with my magnifying glass, but she does have solid legs and they do form a triangle when she sits down. I had a bit of a search around and concluded she might be a 1974 funtime, so it's nice to know I got the gist of the whole identifying thing ;D
I'm rather looking forward to rerooting her hair, although i'm not sure what colour to go for (I always wanted one with white hair when I was little, so I might go with that!!).

Hi, It would be good if you could put a photograph up before her re-root and then again after.
I don't know the dolls you mention but it would be good if you could put some photos up of them in the other dolls section, I would be interested to see them. Nice to meet you. Jill

Thankyou, I'm sure I will!! I wasn't sure if it would be OK to post pictures of them, as there seemed to be a lean towards 60's to 80's dolls, but I would be more than pleased to post piccies, as long as I can figure out how to
