Hello everyone. My name is Charlotte. I just celebrated my 30th birthday As a child I had Sindy from the age of 4 - 13. (late finisher I know!) Anyway they were all boexed carefully and put in the shed. However the damp got to them and ruined the lot. I had 3 houses, stables, hospital, fashion boutique, cafe, TV sudio, range rover, swimming pool, the lot. Devastated is not the word. Anyway I have now decided to collect again. I am not interested in the newer style "barbie" type Sindy's. I prefer the traditional doll. So I am starting to look on ebay and stuff..... its brilliant. Any tips on how best to collect would be greatly appreciated! Charlotte x

Hi Charlotte
Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy it.#
My only advice would be go for what you like and don't forget another one will come along if you don't win it this time.
Also don't dismiss the tlc dolls My best girls have come from grubby backgrounds. a little love does wonders.
Lotsa love Zoe

Hi Charlotte, you say you don't like the newer Sindy dolls but which is your favorite era. Pedigree? Hasbro? I like the 1960's new look, sideparts. I also like the 1986 smirky Sindy. + all those in between. Have a great time here. There are lots of friendly collectors with knowledge in all aspects of Sindy. Good luck with your collecting Jill x

Oooh thanks for the welcome... to be honest I think Pedigree is my fave era... although I do like the 1987 - 1989 Hasbro....
The Styling Sindy was my first doll in 1981 when I was 3. Then I got an Active Ballerina Sindy and it went from there. The dolls I would like in particular are the auborn Masquerade Sindy, Romance and Roses and an Ice Skating Sindy which I think was around a 1987 doll.
I am desperate for a house and some of the furniture... eek so much I want!

Hi Charlotte!
How are you? Your Sindy story sounds just like mine. I was a late finisher too, at about 13-14. All my Sindy stuff went in my Mum's garage and went rotten. Anyway, huge welcome to this fantastic forum. You'll love it on here. Hope we get to speak soon. Bye for now, Love, Ineke xxx

Hi Charlotte, so sorry to hear about your ruined collection, that must be heartbreaking I too collected Sindys from an early age to at least 13 :-[I wouldn't have given up but kind of made to sadly. I also carefully stored all my boxes away and always looked after my dolld and house so carefully. I so wish my parents and let me keep it all! Best of luck with your new collection. Ebay is ok but a bit steep, look out for Sindys in charity shops and car boot sales. I have found some total bargains at them! Angela xx
