Hi Annette--If I didn't know it was Norway, I'd think I was looking out my own backyard window! I am in Canada and this looks like a typical rural scene where I live--the snow does get to you after a while! We are in a January thaw right now and the grass is greening up, but we usually have snow from early November thru mid to late April, depending on where you are--with warmer temps only late May through mid September--the warmest being July and August. Beautiful horses!--Do they enjoy the cold?--I noticed they aren't wearing any blankets--about how cold is it on average thru your winter months--Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures with us--Best, Frances

On average we get temperatures between minus 30c to minus 5 in the winter... And about 20-30 cm snow a day... And that makes me go bonkers!
I only put on blankets if it snows heavy, and the snow is wet. Or if it gets under minus 15c... They don't mind the cold, as long as they are dry and have enough hay to eat;)
But I take them in a night, and make sure they get dry.
Well... B and B;) Maybe, I have a nice room her, but I think you vould find the cold a bit to hars:D

;D It isn't that cold, not when you get used with it And you do, when it starts to get cold i nowember, and you still got snow late i april But I wouldn't move, not one inch. I got four cats, and they don't go outside during the worst snowfall... And that is quite funny... Four cats, that want to kill everything that moves in front of them... I got sore toes Ouch!!!

The old lady is an Norwegian breed called Nordlandshest=Norhernhorse, or something like that. She's about 135 cm tall;) Some scientists say that this breed are the last remaining horses of Djengis Khan;) She's not a "cold" pony, more like a calm sportspony-type:D
The Creme one, is a Norwegian Fjord, but she got a very rare type of colour, nor with the black stripe in her mane and tail. And of course, she has long mane;) Not the way you aer used to see them;)
The lady with long legs are a standard breed warmbloods trotter. Never been on at track her whole life, and are a bit bonkers;) Not dangerous or misbehaving, she get stressed uot very easy. And starts to sweat, it actually runs down her body... Poor girl....
I got her in September, if I can get her to trus me, I'll use her for som hacks... But the main reason for having them here, is company;) I enjoy beeing with them...
Ummmh... Don't get me started on my animals;) I'll post some pics of my cats later;)

:)They sound like lovely pony's . i wished i lived where you are it sounds like heaven . heres a pic of my horse , her full name is colebridge fairytale buy i called her fairy for short . i used to show her at the royal show and at county level shows . she is a palomino which as you will know its a color not a breed . my mom brought her when she was 6 months old i had her for christmas day . i was just 14 then . fairytale has just been broken in this picture (ready to ride) and i was 17 in this picture . sadly when i was 19 i sold her to a very good kind friend as i had lost interest in her and liked boys a big mistake . fairytale is now 13 and is doing beautifully with her owner . i hope one day that myself or if i have a little girl will have a pony / horse back in our life . img137.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ssl26875tf6.jpg
