Hi, My old cat Arnie died in september aged 16 & half. We were all very sad and I said I didn't want another as I didn't want to go through that again. However the house felt so empty that we went ahead and got Chester a Maine Coon cross. He has bought a lot of fun already and he's only 14 weeks!

Hi Janine He's really cute and adorable. Lovely colour. We have a girl cat from the lady from the local cat rescue ( her mom lives next door to us). She's black and has a cystitis problem which means special food and a few trips to the vet. Nevertheless, over the two years we've had her she's grown more loving and content and is really happy now. Her first owners called her Tia, but we call her Tia Maria. We also feed two cat rescue girls who live in the neighbour's shed. They started off really frightened as they had been neglected, but over 6 months they are really improving and trusting us. Alice is a tortoishell and comes in the house to sleep on the spare bed and Amy is a bootiful long haired smokey grey girl- we can't touch her yet as she's too afraid. They're a bob double and go everywhere together. We've also got a tortoise called Ladybird whom I've had for 30 years. I've sent a pic of grey Amy sitting in Ladybird's hutch. Bronnie X

OMG Janine what a cutie! But don't tell my Lab Retriever/Shepherd cross I said that or he'd be seriously upset !!!! When we visit the vet, they clear all the kitties in the clinic out of his range of vision, because one time he almost turned the office upside down when he saw the 'house' kitty on the counter . Now I am not allowed to bring him into the waiting room without prior notice . Enjoy your new sweetie! He's going to be a tiger when he grows--you can tell from those stripes--a beauty Janine! Best, Frances

Luv your tortoise and kitty pic Bronnie! Aren't the rescue pets the best!!! We rescued our dog from a home where there was a history of domestic violence--just like people, it affects them on a deeper level. After we rescued our dog, he was very scared at first and took a long time to build a circle of trust in the family. He always thinks each bag of food is his last and worries endlessly until we bring the new one in with shopping! He is so affectionate and such a wonderful family dog--I think he has tried harder to be a part of the family because he wants so badly never to go back to his former home!!! Best, Frances
