Hi Beanie
I would love the Silkies too, they are so sultry looking and elegant, but likewise beyond my budget. I do have a repro boxed brunette bubblecut wearing red flare coat and pillbox hat and silken flame cream satin bell skirt and red velvet bodice dress. She was a christmas present about 6/7 years ago from a dear friend who said afterwards that she got her from a shop in Southend for £12.99p. I also have a repro beige blonde pony tail Barbie, the 35th Anniversary doll wearing the black and white swimsuit. She was again a present from my ex partners brother from his hols in Tennerife. I think he said he paid the equivelant of £4, but this issue is unboxed tho she has her wrist band, stand and glasses. Sadly her original sandles snapped so she wears modern Barbie Sandles now. I would keep an eye out for unusual gift shops that sometimes have specialist boxed Barbies and also the Pink Pony tail Barbie site does deboxer specials at cut down prices.

Oh I will look there thanks Carl, I really want the at the races and high tea Barbies as they are just so classy looking. I am a fan of the 50's so the high tea one is just my dream I have got the price as lkow as £54 but really for a doll when I have 3 young kids I just can't justify it. I think it goes on my xmas list.
If I find them cheap Carl I will let you know and if its at a price you can't argue with I will get one for you,
Zoe

Go for it Zoe! YOu won't regret it! They are beautiful dolls - only it's hard to pick one! I really like the ingenue doll with the white/platinum hair - she is so pretty! I have the AA lingerie barbie and it is a beautiful doll, really good quality & once I debox her she will look lovely on display. I am currently waiting on the day at the races doll to come, I couldn't resist (got her in an ebay auction for £35 so not bad!)- the hair and outfit are gorgeous! Obelisk online seems to be the cheapest on ebay but check out US sellers as sometimes even with postage they work out a lot cheaper! Kathy xx

I got the above doll from the US! I won her for about £16 plus £11 postage, so not bad at all!

I agree with Katy regarding Obelisk on Ebay - I bought my one and only Tiny Kitty Collier off her and I got her for about £28. Try Black Gracie too - she's an American Ebayer and has reasonable prices for us Brits just now!! Your Silkstone is lovely Kathy Luv Anita xxx

:)Cheers Zoe for the kind thought.
kathy i love your doll. Trouble is if i bought one of these new i just couldnt justify deboxing her and then would not get quite the same enjoyment of the doll. A bit like vintage Sindys look being so classic and unique, so was Vintage Barbies and Silsktone use this elegant sultry look.

Carl I know exactly what you mean - that's why mine is still in her box! From the way she is secured in her box though I think it would be easy to debox her without destroying anything. She is secured - not with wire ties- but with ribbon!! It is beautiful!! All you would have to do is undo the knots and she is free!! And it would be easy to return her to her box if you had to. The box is very sturdy, not at all flimsy! There was definitely a lot of thought put into these dolls - not only the dolls themselves but also their packaging! I really recommend them, and there are definitely some bargains out there!!

Oh I've just remembered Carl, I have seen quite a few nude silkstone dolls on US ebay going for a song on BIN! There are alo some amazing ooak dresses on ebay from a seller in Thailand that would be amazing on these dolls, that would also mean you wouldn't have to worry about deboxing!!

I am with you Carl. I really need her to be de boxed as I think you need to play with them and pose them. So if you pay alot you want to keep them boxed and its not the same. Mine would be in a cupboard. Thats why I never go for boxed Sindys. Although Kathy your lady is just lovely. Please please show me a pic of the new one when she comes. I have checked out the ebay sellers already..... (hint hint Mr Beanie) Zoe
