:)Hi All
Kevins got a couple of my Barbies and a tall Hasbro Sindy to rerroot. Both these dolls are a real chore to remove their heads due to the delicate jointed mecanisms that allow the head to rotate more than a basic pop off ball joint. Kevin hasnt attempted any of mine yet really tho he as started a reroot on a 80's Mattel Heart Family mother doll for me. Yes he says the holes are very close together and there are loads, hence him not getting these dolls done so quickly like he did the few Sindy rerroots i had quickly. I wanted my Hasbro done as a brunette but Kevin started a test on a cheap car boot Hasbro he got for himself and they have pale yellow painted scalps underneath their blonde locks so he painted over it with brown acrylic and now cant see the the holes for rerooting.
Cutting off the V mecanism tho doesnt it leave Barbie looking out of proportion thos like when you find the poor played with dolls with broken off joints and their heads are pushed back on over the stem of her elegant long neck. I have a rock star Dee Dee with her mechanism broke and i just glued her head just over the top of her neck.

Hiya Carl, I dont cut off the v-shape. I heat the head up on some warm water and go REALLY slowly when pullin it off! Gently turning and wiggling the head untill I get one of the prongs of the V out and then the rest is quite easy. Spice girl heads do not come off without breaking ( I know this to my cost) If you are really careful the head should come very slowly off and then you will be able to put the newly haired head back on the doll- without getting that weird short neck thing ;D Love Claud xxxxx

Hi there! Wow I love your barbie reroots, nice idea to give them for birthdays too! For the dreadlocks, did you use silk for cross stiching? (don't know the word in English...)

Hi there,
Yes I do use silk for dreadlocks ..... and I only root around the outsitde of the head.. so she can only have a ponytail but the dreadlocks lie down better that way lol
