It's not all Action Man and GI Joe!! I also love TINTIN, and for Christmas, the kids clubbed together to get me... some socks? No! After shave? No, no, no! A DVD boxed set of the TV cartoon version from the 90's? YEEEESSS!!! We all ended up watching an episode every night instead of story time throughout January/Feb!!! Cut to world book day last week, and our daughter, Hannah (6yrs) had announced that she wanted to go as TINTIN! Every year the kids go to school dressed as a character from literature. She wasn't the only one disappointed when school told us they weren't going to do it this year - Boo & Hiss! In a bizzare twist, Hannah decided that to cheer everybody up she would not only ask her teacher if she could bring her costume in anyway, but she would now go as Thomson and Thompson, the detectivesfrom TINTIN. We assumed that she was simply going to ask a pal to dress the same as her, but she had other plans! My wife, Donna scoured the charity shops, and we all chipped in, making and painting the props! One of Grandma's old walking sticks was trimmed for Thomson, and a straw was painted and combined with a piece of pipe cleaner for Thompson's walking stick! And there are some days that I feel like the luckiest Dad in the world!
