Hello all! I'm guy from Canberra, Australia, in my 20s. A few days ago my father was tearing through cupboards, throwing away stuff, to prepare for home renovations. He stopped to ask me if a friend of mine, with a small daughter, might like a bag full of doll clothes and some dolls before they went in the skip. In the bag I found a groovy looking mod girl and another smaller doll.
From the labels on some of the clothes I figured they were Sindy and Patch dolls. They are made in Hong Kong and I believe were my mothers in the 60s. She has given the Patch a hair-cut at some point - to make it look like a boy I guess, the Sindy hair also requires attention. I spent that afternoon trying the outfits on them. I really like them and am going to keep them.
I already have a Ball-joint doll and an Obitsu doll and enjoy the customization aspect of them, they use wigs though so I've never been able to try re-rooting doll hair which I am keen to do. I look forward to learning more about these dolls from you all. ^__^ ~Daniel

Hey There Daniel Great to have you aboard... it will be great for one of our members - Stacey/ButterflyButtons - to have someone to chat to from her own country as well. You will find loads of helpful hints and tips (and plenty of pictures) about re-rooting dolls here and also information about the clothes and the dolls you have too, but don't forget to ask as well - we're sure to have someone who can help you find the answers you need... Please do post pics of your Obitsu dolls in the Other Dolls section... would really love to see those. Hope you have a FAB time posting here Luv Anita xxx

Welcome to the forum Daniel. Glad the dolls never hit the skip - I'd love to make a find like that. I've just done a couple of reroots and if I can do them anyone can

Thanks for the welcome, here are the Sindy items that were in the bag - only one boot. There were a few faerie glen and unlabeled clothes as well, which was good as i was able to finally dress my formerly nekkid obitsu doll >__<. The Parker/Jacket on Sindy is my favorite thing. I have put the hair switch on Patch - it's a big improvement for the moment. I'll be sure to show pics of my BJD boy and Obitsu girl, in the relevant area, when I take some good photos.

Hi Daniel, welcome to the forum, you are a lucky boy, that's a great attic find, lovely to have your mums dolls. I don't have any of my original dolls but have made up for it recently, she is seriously addictive. Another website you should visit is Dazed By Dolls, which is Scotty/ Debbie's website who is a forum member. Have fun with your new girls! Brigidx

Thank you - those are some very informative site recommendations.
I hope to be in China for most of next year to pursue acrobatics more seriously. So not planning to build any large collections before I leave, still there are some Sindy items I am thinking it would be nice to own.

Hi and welcome.
You sure are lucky to have that Sindy and Patch. Very jealous. Great that you rescued them from the skip.
Good luck in China.
