Awww thank you hun.I always thank my lucky stars that I live in this part of the country, and to people who let me look after their beautiful horses.I couldn't afford one of my own at the moment and this is the next best thing. There is definitely something about being at one with a horse, just moseying along at your own pace.He is the safest horse I have ever come across, not even batting an eye when a combine harvester goes past! His fav game though is to tip up the wheelbarrow after I have poopicked his field.Little blighter! I can't wait to get back in the saddle properly.Am missing it like mad!

Hi Fran, I guess you get the best of both worlds that way, all the joy without the expense! I have only ridden a couple of times but really enjoyed it. Bx

He's lovely, Fran. I adore horses, they've got a beauty and grace that's all their own.

Great photo and nice to know someone gave an ex racehorse a chance (heard of a few being pts). I have a horse too, he's 40 years old and an anglo arab. Well I say mine, I used to ride him when I was a teenager - he's my Dad's pet now.
I was drawn to Sindy and Anna through the horses. Loved Anna for that as she had all the different tack for her horse.

Aww!! Fabulous Fran - any chance of a bigger pic? I rode for a while at home in my teens, but when the local stable - whose horses we used to ride - failed an inspection by the RSPCA (apparently for allowing pregnant mares to be ridden), five of us gave up - the next nearest Registered stables to us at that time was 20 miles away. One my friends eventually got her own horse but it was her father that made sure he had feed, took time off work when the vet was need etc; In really bad weather the neighbours near the field she kept him in would supply the horse with veg, potato and carrot peelings. After a while she was forced to sell him as she just lost interest:( Luv Anita xxx

Aww thats lovely that u have kept him all this time Sharie. And yes Anita they are bloody hard work.I think a lot of youngster s don't realise.Mind you, some adults don't either and soon lose interest. But horses give so much back, and i am particularly interested in the use of horses with autistic children.Nothing short of miraculous. Am trying to liberate Joe's phone from him to take better pics!

Horses are such lovely creatures.

Oooohh sounds lovely Stacey.Would love to see pics and hear how you get on.As I have said,Summit is an ex racehorse. He was then rescued from a place after he had retired. He was being beaten by a broom handle in his stall and underfed. As a result he is now terrified of brooms[can be difficult being in a yard]and can be a bit bargy when you put his feedbucket down.Move away v quickly when you do this! But his good qualities outweigh this,a really fab old gent!

I just don't understand how a human being can treat an animal like that, I hope they were dealt with severely!? Sounds like he has found a good place and good people now. Please give Summit a big hug from me. Bx
