Well, as if we didn't have enough with the 11 rabbits we have....along came this little lot the other day!! Not the first litter I've had, this is the 5th, but as anyone who has rabbits will know, the litters are so big as often only a couple will survive. sad but true. Anyway, at last check this little lot were doing well. We can't afford to keep them, so it'll be sell or free to good homes when the're ready to leave Mum. They weren't planned, one of the bucks had got out of his cage about a month ago....tut tut. Should have known!!! This pic was taken when they were 24 hours old, they are now 72 hours old!!! xxxx

Bunny Update!! They now all have a thin downy layer of fur.... on the black ones you can see teeeeny tiny whiskers. Mum is doing a fab job, don't think I'll be able to touch them now as she has become attached. A day or so ago she wasn't too worried, but now she tried to battle with my hand!!! it had been rubbed in her "do's" too...... YUK!! the WORST bit of handling them!!!! Anyway, fingers crossed Mum will keep going and that they don't get thrown out the nest...... will take some more piccies when they are a little older...... but until then, this is a photo of the Daddy!! He is the black one with a white nose, but this is him when he is 6 weeks old!!!!!!! (He is Flemish Giant breed.) I'm hoping they turn out like him. We call him Guinness because of his black fur and little white nose!!! xxxxxx

Good thing my daughter hasn't seen this. She would want one.
Our rabbit died a few years ago. She was 11!!!!!! and died a virgin I'm afraid. She was given to our eldest for her 10th birthday. Rescued from an aggressive mum and she was quite aggressive as well.
The girls were mad about her and it was quite sad when she passed away. She had had a stroke so I had her put to sleep.
Wish you success with yours and hope they all get a happy home. They sure are cute.

Thank you both!! poor bun, but 11 is a fabulous age! wow! ;D If I had anything to do with ours would also have kept their virtue, but the sneaky boys rattle the locks on their hutches and get out! We have a small barn/outhouse that they are all in, they get to come out have a good run about. I have 11, one died last year, very young at 3. Choosing names is fun isn't it? We have... Bobbie ( after Roberta in the Railway children, my DH named her!) Bean, Taffy, Bambi, Margo, Tinker, Peanut, Guinness, Rosie, Champers, Pepper...and the 6 babies!! I'm not naming those as their new homes will name them. They are all doing well, if anyone is in the area (I'm in Barnsley South Yorks) and wants a bunny around the end of March, I do them free to good homes!!!!

He heeee.. they are cutie. Their Mum is very clever. I put a blanket over the hutch part the other night when it was really cold (they are in the barn, but still gets chilly out there). The next morning, she had pulled it in and put it on top of her nest!!!! very intelligent!!..... She is doing very well. I'm going to take more pics of them tomorrow. They should have their eyes open in the next few days. xxxxx

Hi Becky, 17!! I bet they look even more cute now their eyes are open. I hope you can find good homes for them. My poor old bunny lives in a bag in the little room I have, but seeing your bunnies has revived old feelings for him. I knew my own mind better then than I do now because it had to be a rabbit toy! Hugs coming his way!

:)Aaawwwhh bless. The first pic they look like newborn puppies.
I took on a lovely black rabbit over 10 years ago before i moved to Blackpool in 2001. I made the mistake of listening to my ex partner and we left it in the care of the neighbour and their grandkids. However i only knew brief details and probably best not to dwell on it but sadly we heard he'd gotton out/died soon afterwards. He had belonged to an elderly man before he came to me and was a very good house and hutch rabbit who used to love coming in the living room and sitting peacefully in corners and under the furniture. However as we were moving from a house into a Flat here my ex didnt think it was a good idea to keep him in an indoor cage. How i regret it and probably wont ever forgive myself as i am not one to part with a pet (to me they are for life). I moved here with my gerbil of time and the budgie but we should have bought the rabbit with us too.
My staffie Tara came to me from another home 6 years ago and i was told she used to sleep with a real rabbit. Can just imagine it as she is as soft as a brush.
Carl xx
