Hi all Well we had a lovely visit to my father-in-laws over half-term but poor little Griais was out of sorts. She's very old but the sparkle had gone out of her. She was looking very thin and wasn't very active, so my father-in-law took her to the vets. We had a nasty feeling come over us when we saw him returning from the vets 'without' the dog, but it was fairly good news. They did a blood test and made a diagnosis within 20 minutes (it's too technical for me to remember what it was but she needed a hysterectomy). They operated on her that afternoon. Later that day she came home, looking sorry for herself with one of those cones around her neck but I'm glad to report that she's been making a good recovery ever since. It could've turned into something nasty if she's not been seen sooner so things worked out really well. We were amazed at the speed at which it all happened and think isn't it a shame our health service can't operate as quickly as that (but that's a whole other topic for discussion - NOT)! Love Susan x
