Aww just to let you know that one of my Son's Praying Mantis Boris has died he couldn't shed his skin properly as they do this quite often to become larger and he had snapped one of his arms and antenors and my son found him on the floor of his container My son is quite upset really as he had grown quite attached to them. So he only has Peter now. Val x

I didn't think I'd ever be saying this, but Peter looks kinda cute in a creepy, insecty sort of way...he looks like he's got a little smile on his face! Definately posing for the camera!

Say cheese! It looks so much as though he is posing for his pic!
I love this thread, what amazing little creatures. Do they become bright green when they are grown? Just thinking about the one on "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here" who pounces on an unsuspecting insect ... and the insect just seems to carry on eating as though he is not about to be eaten himself! Now that is cool as a cucumber!
Great pics, keep them coming!

Another great pic...he's so photogenic! But it is sad that these (and other small pets) have such short life cycles. I'm not a lover of insects in general but I reckon I could tolerate one of these. Am I right in thinking they don't tend to move very fast?

Thanks Susan x Yes they do move quite fast when they want to especially if their prey is close at hand they feed on live crickets and small spiders which i am not keen on as i like spiders They shed their skin alot which makes them larger Val x

Ah, sorry to hear the sad news Val. I loved that picture you posted of Peter . . . I'm sure I could see a little smile on his face! At least he had a good home and was cared for. Good bye Peter.
