Hi Everyone, My name is Pauline and I live in a small country town in Victoria, Australia. I was born in Zimbabwe and moved here to Australia when I was 10. I had one Sindy doll as a child, a 1977 active Ballerina, whom I loved. I gave this Sindy to my sister when I was a teenager - she was 10 years younger - and she destroyed her. A few months ago I decided I would like to replace my Sindy and did a search on ebay for one. Wow, was I blown away by the number of different Sindys and all her outfits. I have since become a Sindy addict, spending all my spare time researching about her and have built up a small collection of dolls and outfits. I particularly love Trendys Girls, Gauntlets, the 70's hard heads and the face of the 1977 basic Sindy. I look forward to meeting a lot of likewise Sindy lovers and to learning a lot more about her from all the information in this forum. Pauline

Hi Pauline and welcome!
Im a noob too from Perth so there are a few of us aussies floating around. I love the 70's sindys too. I had an active 77 when i was a kid - I think I broker her ankle the first night I got her in that stoopid ballerina stand!
I have been bitten by the bug hard. This rotten dollar crash is depressing right now hope it gets better real soon.
Did you get your sindy in Zimbabwe or Aus when you came here? nic

Hi Pauline, Beware thats how the bug gets you. First you think you are just going to replace the Sindy you had as a child and then of course all the outfits. Once you start looking you see that there are many different styles of Sindy with all different hair colours and lip colours and sideparts Oh my, how lovely they all are! and what lovely fashions. Slippery slope into Sindy Madness. Good luck.
You will get lots of advice and help on here as there are many lovely knowledgeable members.
Jill xx

Hi Jill, Nice to meet you. I know what you mean about the Sindy madness. I am finding myself getting up in the middle of the night to check ebay - for Sindys being listed in the UK. LOL You are 11 hours behind us at the moment. My husband and kids think I have gone crazy. I am enjoying looking at all the topics on this forum and have already learned a few things which is great. Have a great day Pauline

Hey Pauline - - you will soon get past the worry that you are a grown woman playing with dolls!! This forum will help you with that as there are "lots of grown women playing with dolls" here!!! I hate to tell you that you are well and truly bitten!! Checking ebay in the middle of the night! There is no going back now! But hey - don't worry about it - it's a hobby and they make you happy! Other people have things like sport, (where honestly is the logic or purpose of driving a car as fast as you can around a track fifty thousand times? Or whacking a leather ball with a piece of willow then running up and down? Or wearing long socks and kicking a football around until you immobilise it in a net??) The trick from now on is to decide which one of the 129 items you find on ebay is the one you want the most!! Do not feel bad or guilty - YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! Welcome to the sindy madhouse !! Cheers Janee xx

Hi Nicki, She looks gorgeous in the dress. Glad all worked out, kinda, in the end. The doll is gorgeous. Well worth getting up at 3 am for. She is on my wish list. LOL. At the moment my favourite doll is a 1971 Walking Trendy which I bought which had been re-rooted. I bought the College Girl outfit in the yellow variation (from Helen at Sindy Repro) because I thought it would suit her colouring. She looks just gorgeous in it. I will take a photo and show you - if I can figure out how to put it on LOL. xx Pauline
