My name's Liz, and I'm really pleased to have discovered this forum. As a total novice when it comes to collecting Sindy dolls, I'm looking forward to chatting to more experienced collectors and admiring their collections!
I was born towards the end of the Pedigree Sindy era, so grew up with Hasbro's version. I was given a 1987 'Romance and Roses' Sindy by my Gran, and still have the doll now, although she's a little worse for wear. It's been fascinating to find out about the original Pedigree dolls, especially given the level of detail in their clothes/accessories.

Many thanks for the warm welcome to the forum, Loretta, Zoe, and Jane; it's much appreciated. The local branch of Woolworths has recently been selling off the new version of the Sindy dolls (those by Pedigree/Chad Valley, I think) at very reduced prices. I couldn't resist buying a few (got Sindy with friend Emma at £6 instead of £19.99!), then looking for more Sindy-related stuff on the 'net, which is how I found this forum. Zoe: An original Pedigree Sindy should be on its way to me fairly soon, thanks to eBay. Haven't much of a clue quite what type I've bought - it's a bargain basement Sindy, really, but as soon as I saw the doll, I just knew she could find a good home with me!

Thanks, Ineke - great name; I don't think I've ever known anyone called Ineke before. I live in Grantham at the moment (not too keen on it, but it could be worse!).
