I dont know if I told any of you last year about Wilmas toes? Last year she had to have one removed and last month she had another removed. She now only has three toes on each front paw!! She is our very own three toed boxer!!! She still has her stitches in and she has her last visit to the vet tomorrow. Running vets bill so far £1330 Luckily she is insured so i only had to find £100 of the above amount. She is one expensive dog!!!

Wilma lost her toes chasing balls over the park!! She is so frantic to catch them she digs her paws in to turn and put on her brakes. Both times she has ripped a claw out and the vet has tried and tried to save the toes but they just wont heal. We have now stopped throwing balls for Wilms as she cannot afford to lose any more toes. she has one more trip to the vets next week (Dunc took her today for a check up), she will have her stitches removed and hopefully that will be the end of it. Till the next time something is wrong with her............. Thanks for you lovely messages alabama and greentrixiepixie.

Hope Wilma's better soon. Are boxers known for delicate bones in their toes?

HI Nita and Beany,
Wilma is all recovered now and doesnt even notice that she only has three toes on each front paw. Its all healed over really well and the hair has grown over the scar tissue.
Wilma has got over the loss of Fred, but it toook a long time. The vet said that she should have her attention diverted by lots of walks and games (hence the loss of another toe!!). she will now stay indoors on her own for 5 hours a day when I am at work and doesnt howl!!!
She has to go into kennels for two weeks in november and she has never been there without Fred. I dont know how she will get on, but maybe I am worrying over nothing!!
Love Yvonne
