As a child of the 60's I adored my Weekender Sindy that I was given in 1965. I kept her and all my other treasured dolls for many years but after 4 sons I decided I would never have a little girl to share the joys of Sindy with so I gave all my dolls to my neice.... BIG MISTAKE! A few weeks ago I was at a jumble sale and found a Sindy doll and paid the princely sum of .20 cents Australian for her. I couldn't believe my luck!! I googled for info and I discovered she is a 1974 funtime Sindy and apart from needing a new hairdo she is in very good condition. ;D Now my problem is I am hooked and have already bought 2 more dolls on eBay and bidding on more and have a huge watch-list Looking forward to finding out as much as I can from all the experts in here and swapping ideas.

Hi Robyn Welcome to the forum A great find you had there for .20 cents and a good start to your collection. I think we have all at some point or another gave our dolls away sadly, but we do hear of a few people who have found their childhood dolls in their parents attic. Have fun and hope to chat to you soon ;D

Hi Robyn Welcome aboard - we are a very nice group of people who are addicted to Sindy and other vintage dolls such as Tressy, Tammy, Barbie to name but a few and we all have great fun sharing pics and ideas with each other but it does mean there is no cure for this addiction!! I got my first blonde Weekender Sindy in 1963 - a week after she was realeased and ended up with two more by 1965. They were given away to younger relatives when I was 14 and it's been regretted ever since!! Hope to chat with you soon..... enjoy your time here Luv Anita xxxx

Welcome here Roby,. I am also only collecting a few months but already have a lot of sindy's...mostly from the 7's and eightie's. I still have my first Sindy (pffffw ) but I had another one and also clothes that I gave away..... But I found one alike lucky enough.... I really feel happy like a child when I find anything of Sindy, even when it's an odd shoe or something ;D... Marijke

Thanks to all for the lovely welcomes. Today my second Sindy arrived in the mail, along with an assortment of clothes and shoes. I was like a kid in a lolly shop as I opened the parcel ;D I will take photos of before, during and after restoration. I can't wait!! This dolly that arrived today has had a sad and sorry life and will need a major overhaul. I hope I'm up to the challenge Thank goodness I can call on all you lovely people for advice & help.. lol xxx Robyn
